IT Asset Management

The main objective is to ensure that IT resources are used efficiently, effectively, and timely utilizing financial, contractual and inventory data to make strategic decisions and track the use of IT assets in an organization. When combined with all the aspects of ITAD one arrives at a closed-loop system that helps optimize costs and limit environmental impact by reducing the total number of assets in use, extending the life of those assets, and ensuring they are disposed of sensitively.

Our ITAM Process

ITAM Cycle.png

Whilst ITAM contracts vary wildly and are influenced by a multiplicity of factors the process we follow at Sumo Technologies is largely based on the following stages:

Request
Based upon a catalog of available equipment and part of a company’s new employee onboarding process an electronic request is made.
Fulfill
The equipment is provisioned, commissioned for the specific user, and sent to their location, and once received physically connected to the network.
Monitor
The environment is constantly monitored to optimize usage and mitigate risk.
Deploy
Additional hardware is added to the IT environment based upon the output from monitoring.
Service
Any assets requiring update, repair, or replace - identified either by monitoring and auto-alerts, or bulletins from operating system or hardware manufacturers – are actioned accordingly without an impact to the IT environment.
Retire
Based upon Tech Refresh plans devices, along with those that cannot be repaired economically, are removed from the environment and placed in the ITAD process.
